A Short Post on Mike Aviles
The 27 year old rookie for the Kansas City Royals who has a .993 OPS despite having a career minor league OPS of .802. Without spoiling too much, which of these numbers do not fit with the others?
| Age | Team | OPS |
|---|---|---|
| 25 | Omaha | 0.68 |
| 26 | Omaha | 0.795 |
| 27 | Omaha | 1.001 |
To be fair to Aviles, there's a slight possiblity this is really him and that his BABIPs from the prior two years were unlucky, but honestly don't expect this nice run to last, and if it does I suppose that means hard work always prevails.
See, you expected me to make a pun with his name, but I didn't.

Mike Aviles is the second coming
of….no one. There are no SSs who break at 27 and have meaningful careers. :p
