The Fielding Bible Awards
Full results can be found here. Although none of the winners are all too surprising, one of the ballots surely is. Mike Murphy's ballot is absolutely puzzling. Here's a look at some notable snubs and votes from his ballot alone.
1B: Votes Kotchman the best, Pujols the fourth best.
2B: Does not vote for Ellis or Phillips (the winner) at all, votes Utley 9th, and his 1st, 5th, and 7th place votes do not qualify for the top 10.
3B: Beltre 10th, Longoria 6th, doesn't vote for Rolen ,Crede, or Hannahan, and his 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 9th votes do not qualify for the top 10.
SS: 1st place vote does not qualify for top 10.
LF: Votes Crawford 9th, Willingham 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 9th votes do not qualify for top 10.
CF: Does not vote for Cameron, 2nd, 4th, and 6th place votes do not qualify for top 10.
RF: Does not vote for Ichiro.
C: Does not vote for Mauer.

His ballot is certainly odd
He doesn’t happen to be the guy giving out Gold Glove awards is he?

I'm trying to figure out...
…how Michael Young got 17 points.

Oh my goodness.
This is the same Mike Murphy who has a show in Chicago. I live in Chicago, and while we here have good overall sports radio, Murphy is by far the worst, most odd host of them all, and thats including Terry Boers, who is the strangest old man I have ever seen/heard. Once I realized that it was that Mike Murphy who filled out this ballot I was not surprised in the least bit.
From the "About the Panel" page
On Chicago sports radio for more than twenty years, Mike Murphy’s many strengths include keen baseball observations. He currently hosts a daily show on WSCR 670 AM The Score.

i suppose this is what happens when you attempt to create "balance" in a vote.
of course, not all attempts at balance are necessarily good.
Phillips wins over Utley.
Unbelievable. More believable looking at how the ballots shook out, though.
Interestingly, Phillips comes out ahead of Utley in the Fans Scouting Report
Utley’s not even even in the top ten, although he’s still above average (64/100).
Beyond the Boxscore // Calling BJ Upton lazy is lazy.
It's ok, Jeter got 1 point
if you find that Manny Ramiraz also got 1 point.
Wow, I didn't notice that.
Delmon Young got 16? Raul Ibanez 11?
Goodness.

Utley +47?!
head explodes
McLouth -40 in CF. Very nice!
For a few of the positions, you can tell who Mike Murphy voted for. His 1st place 2B pick had to be Kennedy, Iwamura, or Lopez. His 1st place 3B vote was Glaus and his 2nd place 3B vote was Kouzmanoff. Yes, Kevin Kouzmanoff.
Good point.
At shortstop it looks like either Michael Young, Jason Bartlett, Miguel Tejada, or Cristian Guzman.

Jason Bay
am I reading this right? He finished sixth overall, but only appeared on four top ten lists?
