Suicide Watch: San Francisco
The Padres love free talent and Denker looks like a very nice pick up.

Friday was one of the most frustrating days in my life as a Giants fan.

yeah it was frustrating
but one of the most frustrating in your life as a Giants fan? This is a guy we got as a player to be named later. He does have the potential to be a 2b with decent pop but i can think of about 100 more frustrating days. That being said, our much maligned GM showed again why he is widely reviled by any Giants fan that is paying attention.

So, that was probably a bit of hyperbole, but I’m still really frustrated with the move. I don’t really care the circumstances of how we got him, he was a talented player and a valuable asset that was thrown away for nothing and no discernible reason.

Bizarrely stupid
It’s like taking a $5 bill out of your wallet and lighting it on fire. Not to show off, or anything, just doing it.
Is it going to break your financial stability? No, but that doesn’t make it any less imbecilic.

Haha, I knew exactly what this was about when I saw the title.
True, it’s not so much losing Travis Denker (who truly probably won’t amount to anything anyways) just more the act of losing him when, we really don’t have anyone better to put on the roster. Yet I guess.

You mean you weren't suicidal over Correria or Walker?

Not...
At the price Correia would have commanded. A reclimation project can be claimed off the trash heap as a 5th starter. Also, next year we’ll have better bullpen options than Walker, the Giants are likely to get at least one free agent reliever next year.

I see no need for Walker in here.

WalrusMan, you are the wisest WalrusMan that I know.
Don’t tell other Giants fans but I actually think Walker is a decent bet to bounce back.

Yea..
I don’t think he’s going to be a bad pitcher, but I think there’s no reason to keep him and force another one of the other pitchers down.
